Yesterday, Peckham Rye held a Jumble Trail: a neighbourhood jumble sale where a bunch of homes and flats sell their wares from their doorstep. Punters were able to mingle through various streets picking up vintage clothes, shoes and bric-a-brac at low cost prices.
Anyone can set up a trail by signing up through the Jumble Trail website which sets up sales worldwide. As a ‘champion’ you would gather stall participants and market and organise the event charging a stall fee at your discretion. At the end of the event, the company would then deposit all fees paid by the stall holders to the champion minus a company fee. Stall holders keep all the money sold from their sale.
As well as elevating community spirits, the trail can be used to raise money for charity as well help keep your space clear and uncluttered, earning you a few bob in the process.
