Baracuta SS12

Project Brief

Spring Spring 2012 collection takes inspiration from Baracuta’s 75 years of heritage and builds a collection based on the archives of that history. A story of protective workwear covering eight decades from the industrial North West of England, through the Ivy League style of the fifties and sixties, to contemporary outdoor clothing.

The iconic Harrington makes an exclusive cameo in this collection in the form of the “Curators Choice”. Hand crafted in England, it is made using the finest English cloth from Fox Fabrics, an exclusive lightweight, and wool and linen blend with a waxed finish. The heritage inspired colour palette of Denim Blue, Cornell Red, Golden Virginia and Vintage Whites defines each style.

Baracuta AW11

For Autumn Winter 2011, we trace back through Baracuta’s archives and beginnings in the North West for inspiration. The title of the Autumn Winter 2011 collection, Away Days, takes inspiration from the past when sportswear and outerwear were low tech. Combining key shapes and colours of the season, we create a unique outdoors inspired collection with a heritage feel. The look is low key, modernist and distinctively British with a palette of aged greens, blues, maroons, greys and black.
